winter dance salon

Following its debut in 2025, FACT/SF will present the second year of its Winter Dance Salon at ODC Theater on February 28th, 2026 at 7PM. The Salon is an informal, low-tech, low-stakes opportunity for Bay Area choreographers to share works-in-progress. The Winter Dance Salon happens in conjunction with the Winter Dance Lab.

Applications for the 2026 Summer Dance Festival are included in our Fieldwork Application process, open from September 26 through October 17, 2025 (or until 50 applications are reached).

We prioritize curating choreographers who:

  • Identify as BIPOC and/or LGBTQ+

  • Are based in the Bay Area

  • Have a clear and timely reason for participating in the Salon

purpose

A main goal of the Winter Dance Salon is to provide an opportunity for Bay Area choreographers to share work, see work, and meet new colleagues. We hope that the Salon will function both as a platform for choreographers to try out ideas as well as a gathering to strengthen bonds between working artists in the Bay. We feel it’s important that the Salon serve as a possible entry point for early career artists and those who do not yet have a relationship with FACT/SF, as well as a space where past Fieldwork artists and more established choreographers can continue their creative practices.

For more information, please see the Fieldwork page.
